We admit our mistakes and learn from them. We ask for feedback from our clients, our employees, and our leads. Questioning and testing ourselves is how we get better.
Everyone deserves to be treated with respect. We don't tolerate abusive clients. We don't tolerate jerks in our workplace. We understand that everyone has a life outside of work.
Leadership is about making the whole team better. It may mean: Teaching others about a clever debugging technique you discovered, providing guidance to a junior developer, building a new tool and sharing it with the team, or championing a better development process. Everyone can be a leader, we encourage it!
That means we do not have a physical office you drive to each morning. Instead, our engineers all work from home.
Usually our engineers are attached to a client's project, for example:
A AAA project for a well known studio.
A "gaming adjacent" project, like simulation for vehicle automation.
A gaming startup building their first prototype.
Most engagements last 3 - 12 months, and therefore engineers will be frequently exposed to new projects.
We do not have specific open roles. We focus on hiring outstanding people, and then finding the right work for them. If you are interested, contact us and we can discuss!
Experienced software engineers that can teach us what they know.
Junior software engineers that seek mentorship and focused training.
An attitude in line with our company values of humility, respect, and leadership.
Above market salary. We know the real value of quality engineering.
High quality health benefits.
Matching 401k with access to low cost index funds (Guideline 401k).
Respect for your time; we do NOT do unpaid crunch. We do not believe crunch is effective.
The opportunity to work on a variety of different projects and technologies.
Work from home. We are a remote-first studio, and nearly all of our work is done from home.
A quality work environment: Good tools, friendly co-workers.
Flexible work arrangements. Full time, part time, hourly. Whatever fits your lifestyle.
Landing your first job in the game industry can be frustrating, just getting that foot in the door is very difficult. Most employers are not willing to make the long-term investment in training new talent.
We can do better, we want to channel your passion and make you the best engineer you can be. We consider your hobby and school projects, we test your aptitude and knowledge, and if hired we'll give you guidance and mentorship to get your career on the right path.
